At Coventry compiling the Estimates of the Birmingham Contracts.
At Birmingham in the Evening, dined with Carter & Ian Moorson.

Tuesday 12
Birmingham Contracts to be let.
The Contracts let satisfactory to the Directors – I believe Mr. Keagan will fail in his Contract No. 4 - No. 3 may help him a little, but not enough.

Wednesday 13
At Birmingham settling Schedules of prices with the Contractors – gave Mr. Barker and Mr. Carter data for purchasing land first wanted.
Left Birmingham in the Evening for Weedon.

Thursday, August 14, 1834
At Weedon examined the line in front of the Pavilion gave instructions for planes of the same, with retaining wall & c.

Friday 15
At Kilsby Hill [illegible] examining the Kilsby alteration – gave Forster instructions to proceed with the Survey and also [illegible] and Weedon as far as Stowe Hill.

Saturday 16
At Hampstead & St. John’s Wood Office – examining Crosby’s plans & specifications with several letters.
Felt much indisposed saw Mr. Evans the Surgeon.

Sunday 17
At home all day from indisposition.
