Monday, September 22, 1834
Stony Stratford to meet Mr. Dirkin respecting Wolverton Viaduct - Mr. Parker & Mr. Bramnell were present.
Tuesday 23
At [illegible] of Viaduct, agreed with Mr. Dirkin as to the diversion of River and removal of the Viaduct. Mr. Durkin mentioned Tring, and thought that the Railway Co. might prevent damage by allowing this water of the cutting running down into a reservoir. I objected to the R’way Co. pumping it up to the level of the Summit point.
Wednesday 24
At Cornhill met Board Oxley Lane Tunnel to be open Cutting – Colne Bridge deferred until next meeting.

Thursday, September 25, 1834
At Woolwich examining Concrete Walls made by Ranger - Mr. Selby & Mr. Creed accompanied me – one most pleased with the firmness of the walls – especially the [illegible] work.
Friday 26
At St. John’s Wood writing letters – saw Mr. Buck - Mr. Bidda entered the office to [illegible] drawings and specifications.
Saturday 27
Examined Foundation of Brent Bridge – determined to leave out piling - saw Mr. Creed at St. John’s Wood respecting Estimate of Western line – Left for Streatham to dine with Mr. Leaf.
Sunday 28
At Norwood Church with M Leaf & family.
