Letter of condolence and request for biographical information, addressed to Basil H. Joy
- part of archive:
- David Joy Archive
Handwritten letter addressed to Basil H. Joy, written on The Engineer headed paper. The writer expresses sorrow at the death of Basil’s father, David Joy, and reflects on the loss of old friends.
He asks Basil to send a carte de visite by return of post for publication, together with information to support “a sketch” of his father’s life, which he will "put into a connected shape.”
A rectangular section has been cut out of the sheet, removing the writer’s signature; the authorship is therefore uncertain.
