This file comprises six miscellaneous items reflecting aspects of David Joy’s professional activities, technical work, and personal documentation practices. Included are: a leather‑covered South Staffordshire Railway free ticket issued to Joy in 1853; a photographic print showing his fluid pressure gear fitted to a locomotive axle; a manuscript list of Joy’s patents dated 1855–1887; a large ledger sheet recording payments from shipbuilders, locomotive builders and others between 1889 and 1890, possibly relating to the use or licensing of Joy’s patents; and a working sheet of locomotive indicator diagrams taken from an 18‑inch cylinder goods engine in 1880. The file also contains a sheet of pencil design drawings and monogram studies, undated but attributable to the period 1825–1903.
