A South Staffordshire Railway free ticket mounted within a leather‑covered folding card embossed with David Joy’s name and the initials “O.W. & W.R., Worcester,” referring to the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway. Issued to Joy in his capacity as Superintendent of the OW&WR, the ticket authorised first‑class travel on company business and was valid from 14 January to 31 December 1853.
