Dear Sirs

I ......... to inform you that I presented the Petition of the Melksham Turnpike Trustees against the Wilts & Somerset Railway Bill which is express to the Committee in the Bill.

I find that Mr Mellows is now a Sergeant & thus is too much engaged in Railway Committees to take a retainer but you can apply.

I am dear Sirs
Yours faithfully
J M Ludlow .......

Messrs Moule & Gore

PS There is a similar Petition from Frome presented tonight.
