Dear Sirs, W S & W Railway
Melksham Road
We have this day received a letter from Mr Ward in which he says that "his recollection of the conversation with Mr Gore perfectly coincides with ours" and that "the Company have carried out the terms of the agreement entered into before the Act inasmuch as Mr Blandford authorized by the T.P. Commissioners has agreed on their behalf to the manner of constructing the road now proposed, certain mortifications upon the original plan suggested by him having been assented to by the Company", He also adds "that Mr Brunel agreed and Mr Bruges thought it an ample sum to give £20 to cover the preliminary expenses of the Commissioners" We hope this information will be satisfactory to the Trustees -
We are Dear Sirs
Yours.very truly
Messrs Maule & Gore HG & Justly N Awdry
