Negatives of various scenes at Folkestone Warren by Peter Hewitt for INGOT picture story "Trade Route Under the Channel"

Thirty-seven negatives taken by Peter Hewitt, on behalf of Richard, Thomas & Baldwins Ltd, containing images to be considered for use in the September 1958 issue of INGOT magazine. The images show various scenes at Folkestone Warren, including a man inspecting a pilot tunnel; waves crashing in the channel sea; the entrance door to the pilot tunnel; a man using the entrance to the pilot tunnel; an inscription cut into the chalk wall of the pilot tunnel.

The images were taken for the picture story “Trade Route Under the Channel” by Correlli Barnett and Rolt Hammond, pp. 8-12, and four images were published in the magazine. Some of the negatives are in in strips and some have been cut from their strips into squares
