Contact sheets of 'Remploy' workers making furniture and shoes by Peter Hewitt for INGOT picture story "Remploy - Work for the Disabled"

Eight contact sheets containing images taken by Peter Hewitt, on behalf of Richard, Thomas & Baldwins Ltd, to be considered for use in the December 1958 issue of INGOT magazine. The images show a variety of individuals making furniture or surgical footwear at ‘Remploy.’ Two images have been cut from one of the sheets and are loose.

Three of the images have been published in the picture story “Remploy,” December 1958 issue, pp. 10-12. These include an image showing a man using a machine to cut or sew leather; a man folding or cutting leather on a table; a man with an artificial arm and eye patch using a hammer on a wooden box.
