Seven black and white contact sheets containing images taken by Frank Pocklington, on behalf of Richard, Thomas & Baldwins Ltd, to be considered for use in the September 1958 issue of 'INGOT' magazine. The images show a variety of individuals making models of boats and engines at Bassett-Lowke Limited.
Some of the images have been circled in yellow and seven of the circled images have been published in the picture story “The Modelmakers,” September 1958 issue, pp. 18-20. These include an image showing a modelmaker working from a large-scale blueprint; Mr Harry Checker making a lifeboat for a model of a Mersey dredger; Mr Joe Nutsford making a working model of a Burrell single-cylinder traction engine; an employee putting the finishing touches to a model of the Ark Royal; the hull of a large ship hollowed out for lightness and to prevent distortion; an employee painting a model ship in the paint shop
