Images taken by Peter Hewitt, on behalf of Richard, Thomas & Baldwins Ltd, for the June 1959 issue of INGOT magazine. The images were taken for the INGOT picture story “Midlands Motorway" by Peter Hewitt, pp. 12-16. The article describes the achievements of the London and Birmingham duel carriageway works, in terms of "men, materials, machines - and planning."
