Twenty-eight negatives containing images taken by Frank Pocklington, on behalf of Richard, Thomas & Baldwins Ltd, to be considered for use in the September 1958 issue of INGOT magazine. The images show a variety of individuals making models of boats and engines at Bassett-Lowke Limited.
Seven of the images have been published in the picture story “The Modelmakers,” September 1958 issue, pp. 18-20. These include an image showing a modelmaker working from a large-scale blueprint; Mr Harry Checker making a lifeboat for a model of a Mersey dredger; Mr Joe Nutsford making a working model of a Burrell single-cylinder traction engine; an employee putting the finishing touches to a model of the Ark Royal; the hull of a large ship hollowed out for lightness and to prevent distortion; an employee painting a model ship in the paint shop
