Four contact sheets containing images taken by Peter Hewitt, on behalf of Richard, Thomas & Baldwins Ltd, to be considered for use in the December 1958 issue of INGOT magazine. The images show vehicles waiting for the ferry service which operated across the River Severn between Aust and Beachley, Gloucestershire. Includes a variety of images showing vehicles being loaded on to the ‘Queen Severn’ ferry via a ramp; ocean waves; pylons; cars queuing along a wooden ramp which slopes down towards the ferry.
One of the images is circled in yellow and is published in the picture story “The Severn Bridge,” December 1958 issue, pp. 6-9. This is the photograph showing a line of cars queuing down a wood ramp which leads to the river and the ferry
