Fourteen negative strips and one single negative containing images taken by Peter Hewitt, on behalf of Richard, Thomas & Baldwins Ltd, to be considered for use in the December 1958 issue of INGOT magazine. The images show vehicles waiting for a ferry service which operated across the River Severn between Aust and Beachley, Gloucestershire. Includes a variety of images showing vehicles being loaded on to the ‘Queen Severn’ ferry via a ramp; ocean waves; pylons; cars queuing along a wooden ramp which slopes down towards the ferry.
The single negative matches the image which is circled on the corresponding contact sheet and photograph with job stickers. This is the image showing a line of cars queuing down a wooden ramp which leads to the river and the ferry. It is published in the picture story “The Severn Bridge,” December 1958 issue, p. 8
