Also including a letter by Y.S. Chen from Free China Information Service on setting up a committee for the friends of Free China, newspaper articles from 1956 from the Birmingham Post, Hongkong Standard and Hsinhua News Agency releases on Sun Yat-Sen 90th anniversary and events in China. The majority of the material is from the 1950s, although the folder also contains a letter from 1948 describing the fates of the Tao family connected with the Bank of China in Shanghai, friends of the Cantlies'. Johnny C. Tao describes a plane crash taking his parents and the endeavours of the family to ascertain their fates by travelling to the remote crash site on mountains in Szechuan province controlled by 'fierce savages' the Lo Lo tribes.
