File containing letters, photographs and postcards from Kenneth Cantlie to his family and friends, mostly during the early 1950s when he was travelling overseas while working for the Locomotive Manufacturers' Association (LMA). Places visited include New York and Washington, Jamaica, Johannesburg, South Africa, Calcutta, New Delhi, Jodhpur, Bombay, Strasbourg, Syria, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Jordania, Rome, Athens, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and Colombia etc. sometimes written aboard a ship or in a shaking railway carriage of Taurus Express. Some letters contain reminiscences of the time Cantlie last visited or lived there, such as a letter to son Bruce from Jodhpur 6th February 1949 with attached photographs of the city. Containing also letters from Kenneth Cantlie's brother Colin to him and correspondence with Modern Transport and Punch magazines; a photograph of trials of loading tanks onto railway flat tops.
