Cantlie visited the site in 1937 and later correspondence mentions financial troubles of the company, attempts to reopen, also damages caused by the military (1939-1942); reports on condition and costs of operating the railway. See CANT/1/16 for typed notes titled 'Southwold Railway' discussing the re-opening of the line and a survey possibly by Kenneth Cantlie.
