Two files containing bundles of letters from Kenneth Cantlie to his parents James and Mabel Cantlie approx. 1912-1914. File A contains 3 bundles of letters from 1912, B 2 bundles for years 1913 and 1914 and 3 bundles containing a few miscellaneous letters and notes. Kenneth was attending Gordon's College in Aberdeen during this time and is writing weekly letters home about everyday events, featuring extensively railway related subjects such as models he was building, technical problems he was solving and depictions of major railway accidents of the time. Another hobby, photography is discussed as well, especially in 1913-1914 letters. Some letters were dated without the year, later added by son Hugh Cantlie, who extracted letters from various files and arranged them by date and address.
