Newspaper extracts respecting the Lancaster to Beattock railway express and the Lancaster & Preston Junction Railway

One extract provides a memorandum of the time, as it was kept by a Mr W Smith, as he went through with the Lancaster to Beattock express on the 26th November 1847. It notes that "Mr Worthington drove from Lancaster to Carlisle."

The other two extracts are reports of a special meeting of the proprietors of the Lancaster & Preston Junction Railway on the subject of their lease to the Lancaster Canal Company. One of these reports is taken from the Railway Chronicle.
