Reply to Worthington’s note of the 27th February 1855, ‘asking for engine power for additional goods train’. Trevithick advises that an order has been issued by the Directors of the London & North Western Railway to cease the construction of additional engines beyond a certain number now being constructed, and therefore, strictly speaking, his request is not granted, but while they have an engine fit to work, ‘the traffic shall not stand for want of power’
