Contains approximately 108 carte-de-visites, 16 full plate photographs and 4 small drawings. As well as portraits, there are some landscapes, buildings and a few railway locomotives. People include Charles Kingsley and T. H. Huxley (in a composite), Gustav Uggla of Sweden, Miss Ade Brown of Providence RI, and Mrs. Davis (Samuel Barton Worthington’s wife was née Davis). One of the landscapes may represent the walking tour described in 4/2 above, and there are photographs of the Britannia Bridge, the Menai Straits and several street scenes of Manchester, where Samuel Barton Worthington’s father Thomas had a warehouse and where the family were brought up.
