Handwritten letter from S. E. Bolden, Secretary to the Lancaster & Carlisle Railway Company, drawing attention to carriages and horse boxes fitted with shackles at one end only, which cannot be turned at Lancaster. Bolden requests the return of 24 sets of loose shackles and asks that arrangements be made to avoid the need for loose shackles in future.
