Handwritten notes referring to a letter dated 22 April 1840 from W. B. Buddicom to Joseph Locke describing Ouseburn Viaduct on the Newcastle, North Shields & Tynemouth Railway. The notes record that Locke passed the letter to Samuel Barton Worthington with instructions to prepare drawings for similar laminated timber arched bridges on the Manchester & Sheffield Railway.
