Handwritten notes regarding Joseph Locke’s laminated timber arched bridges

Reference is made to a letter dated 22nd April 1840 from W B Buddicom to Jospeh Locke, describing Ouseburn Viaduct on the Newcastle, North Shields & Tynemouth Railway, which Locke handed to Samuel B Worthington with instructions to make drawings for similar bridges on the Manchester & Sheffield Railway.
