Copy of a letter from J. E. Errington to S. E. Bolden, Secretary to the Lancaster & Carlisle Railway Company, reporting to the Locomotive Contract Committee his opinion as to “a fair measure of the utmost cost the working of the trains would be to the Company”. Errington recommends that the proprietors of the Lancaster & Carlisle Railway now give notice to terminate the current contract with the London & North Western Railway Company for running the service.
