Letter from Francis Trevithick, Engineer of the London & North Western Railway, to S B Worthington

Reply to Worthington’s letter of the 17th November 1855. Trevithick states his agreement with Worthington that the present stock of engines is not enough for the work of the Lancaster & Carlisle Railway, but explains that the London & North Western Railway have no spare stock of engines to meet the line’s increasing traffic
