Collection of illustrated newspaper clippings arranged in sections titled: 1839–1849; 1850–1859; Metropolitan 1860–1866; Charing Cross, Canning Street, etc., 1862–1866; Various 1861–1866; Various (undated); Miscellaneous 1871–1883; and Duplicates. Includes illustrated articles on the opening of new railway lines and stations, railway accidents, royal visits by rail, the construction of the Metropolitan (Underground) Railway, and other railway‑related news, together with a small number of maps and plans. The material is wrapped in parcel paper bearing a label addressed to W. B. Worthington from W. V. Daniell, Bookseller, Printseller and Publisher, dated 4 December 1899.
