Very small pamphlet with green cover in which two lecturers - Mr C.M. Percy and R. Betley - describe the syllabus for Mine Managers. Mr Percy emphasises the importance of mine managers studying mechanical engineering - "Laying Out A Colliery" "Winding Engines", "Boilers" etc. Mr Betley addresses the methods of boring, blasting, shaft sinking and the chemical knowledge required in mining. Details of class times and fees printed on the cover. Printed in Wigan by Richard Platt (Standishgate) in 1879.
