Manuscript letter to Professor Roscoe, dated 6 February 1882, from Rev. J. Sephton, the Headmaster of the Liverpool Institute. Written on headed notepaper: 'Liverpool Institute, Mount Street'. Annotated at the top of the page, in a different hand, 'Forwarded to Secretary by H E Roscoe, Feb 8.82'. Sephton corrects his answer to a query about 'the number of boys who came to the Commercial School from the Public Elementary Schools'. He says he 'had answered somewhat vaguely "about 200 a year"'. He details exact figures and locations of the students on pp.3-4.
