File is comprised of five bundles of printed materials, including printed evidence to the Department of Transport produced by Transport 2000 on the review of operator ("O") licensing procedures (1985); research report produced by BRAKE on dangers of unlicensed trucks (1985); correspondence, press notices, evidence, appraisal notes, and press cuttings produced by Council on Tribunals, Department of Transport and Transport 2000 which discuss environmental objectors to operator licensing, procedures, fees, appointment of new traffic commissioner, and formal procedures for operator licensing inquiries (1984-1994); evidence to the Committee of inquiry, correspondence, and press notices produced by Department of Transport, Civic Trust, Transport 2000,Susan Hoyle, and Council of Tribunals which discuss inquiries on licensing for road freight operators and lorry operating centres (1978-1989); correspondence, press releases, position papers, and guides produced by the Department of Transport, House of Commons, Association of District Councils, Transport 2000, Association of Metropolitan Authorities, and others, which discuss amendments of goods vehicle operator licensing, 1987 and 1990 regulation amendments, and heavy lorry inquiry (1984-1990); and reports produced by Polytechnic of Central London and Transport 2000 on Transport Act 1984 and heavy lorries (c. 1984).
