Reports and letters relating to reports on inner London, London circular roads, and London river crossings
File is comprised of four bundles regarding road campaigns for London circular roads and river crossings. Bundle one contains reports 'A Solution Looking for a Problem' (2003) written by John Elliott Consultancy and produced by Transport 2000, 'Transport of Delight' (1989) produced by CAPITAL Transport Campaign, 'North Circular Roads Study' (1976) produced by Department of the Environment and Greater London Council, and 'The Case Against Widening the North Circular Road' (1983) produced by John Adams for LATA; and letters from Susan Hoyle and Susie Ohlenschlager on behalf of Transport 2000, which discuss river crossings in East London, North and South Circular Road Studies, Archway Road inquiry termination, and orbital travel in South London (1976-2003). Bundle two contains press releases and letters produced by Transport 2000 and Friends of the Earth; collected articles, press cuttings, newsletters, press releases, pamphlets, leaflets and brochures produced by Evening Standard, the Oxleas Alliance, House of Commons, Elric news, Halcrow and Department of Transport; and evidence to the public enquiry and A406 roads order 1984 (1982-1993), which discuss the A406 East London river crossing and Oxleas Wood between A13 and A2. Bundle three contains two press releases produced by Transport 2000 relating to the Millennium Dome river crossing (2002). Bundle four contains comments, reports, and letters produced by Department of Transport, Greater London Council, and Transport 2000 (1982-1983) relating to the A406 north circular road, including Chiswick to Redbridge, and Department of Transport's widening of the road.
