Papers relating to the women and transport working group
A file comprised of documents relating to the Women and Transport working group and their activities, including a general group report, the Moving On Conference organised by the Greater Manchester Resource Unit (1992), articles for ‘Whose Transport System is it Anyway?’ (1992) on women’s safety produced by Transport 2000 Women and Transport Working Group, and the Women’s Transport Charter (1992-1993). Moving On Conference comprises of address lists; correspondence produced by the National Council of Women of Great Britain, Birmingham for People, Department of Transport, and Townswomens' Guilds; printed conference report. Charter comprises of early photocopied drafts of the charter, meeting minutes for Transport 2000 Annual General Meetings (1991), correspondence produced by Department of Transport, Greater Manchester Council for Voluntary Service, Welwyn Hatfield Council, and Graphical, Paper and Media Union which advertise the launch of the charter and their receipt of the Charter document, press releases advertising the Charter’s launch, and information sheets.
