Papers relating to traffic forecasting and car ownership
One bundle comprises of typed, manuscript, and printed materials produced by Transport 2000, Department of Transport, National Council on Inland Transport and others on car ownership, car saturation, traffic forecasts and modelling (1975 - 1989). Contents include written comments on previous forecasts by TRRL and Dr John Adams, comments on forecasts by Dr Gilbert and Mr Marks, updated forecasts for car ownership including mathematical calculations for understanding car ownership, report on saturation planning by John G U Adams of the Geography Department at University College London, evidence to the M3 inquiry on the Department of Transport's traffic forecasting and road scheme appraisal methods, traffic trends on roads in Great Britain, and planning on road schemes.
