Papers and printed materials relating to regional, local, and national transport planning and policy work of Campaign for Better Transport

One series comprises of typed and manuscript materials including press releases, consultation requests and responses, transcripts and evidence, white papers, typed letters and printed email correspondence, meeting papers, position papers, correspondence, bound booklets, pamphlets, articles, press cuttings and other printed materials produced by Transport 2000/Campaign for Better Transport and its staff, local and national authorities, policymakers and Members of Parliament, and members of regional Transport Activist Roundtables and local groups (1983-2017). The series covers Campaign for Better Transport's strategies and support of allied group strategies to influence legislation and political party policy in England, Northern Ireland and Wales at national, regional, and local levels of government through community organising and local initiatives as well as government lobbying through letter-writing and at party conferences and events. Materials discuss broad topics in policy including spending, devolution of government powers to the regional and local levels, and sustaionable development, as well as specific efforts to influence policy around transport planning, including public transport, traffic reduction, and climate change.

Files are arranged into respective series based on contents and topic of the materials, following the original filing system imposed by Campaign for Better Transport as closely as possible.
