Letters, email correspondence, reports, and strategy papers relating to the M6 motorway, Heysham link road, and Birmingham Northern Relief Road
File is comprised of three bundles of printed materials relating to road development works on the M6 motorway, the Heysham-M6 link road, and Western bypass. Bundle one contains typed letters, printed email correspondence, and strategy papers produced by North Lancashire local group of Transport 2000, Highways Agency, and others relating to campaign and research plans, and strategy papers relating to the strategic importance of campaigning against motorway development (2000-2001). Bundle two contains press releases produced by Transport 2000 and media coverage in the form of press cuttings and printed online articles from outlets including BBC, Financial Times, and others which discuss the Birmingham Northern Relief Road to the M6 motorway and the introduction of tolls to the M6 motorway (2002-2004). Bundle three contains email correspondence from Transport 2000 and Road Block, a consultation proposal 'M6: Giving Motorists a choice' produced by Department for Transport, a typed project proposal for analysis of the business case for widening the M6, conference papers, and other printed materials relating to the M6 motorway, M6 widening, Birmingham northern relief road, M6 expressway in Staffordshire and Cheshire, and evidence to the Select Committee on Transport inquiry 'Should all roads be toll roads' (2004-2007).
