In response to a ‘hurry up’ memo from the committee, Rennie writes that he has been in ‘a very bad state of health for upwards of five months’ but that he is now back to work, and has instructed Francis Giles and his son to concentrate on the Stockton project immediately they have finished surveying the Tyne from Newcastle to Shield.
