The Accounts
Ought to be Kept so as to Shew the exact amount Received for Tonnage in the Main Line and in each Branch separately as well as upon each article separately. From the gross amount should be deducted all annual charges only to shew the Profit the Company have made.
The account of all disbursements for New works as well as of all Loans contracted or discharged should form a separate or Stock Account. The whole of the Accounts since the commencement ought to be gone over and stated in these principally without which the Company can never know the exact state of their affairs.
The Repairs (illegible) most (illegible) of laying the down rails and securing (illegible) made new should be avoided and altering those already laid down by degree in order to diminish the heavy expense of repairs.
