“This Meeting having taken the Minute of the General Meeting of the 30th of Dec last – relative to the proceedings of the Tees Navigation Company into consideration – is of the Judgement that it would be advisable to insert a Notice in the Newspapers intimating the Companys intention to apply to Parliament in the next Sessions for an Act to remedy any defect which may be found to exist in the Act obtained in 1828 for making the Middlesbro Branch Railway

and this Meeting conceiving that an extension of that Railway towards Cargo Fleet otherwise Cleveland Port and another Branch Railway to pass through the Estates of Thomas Meynell Esqr and the Rev’d Ralph Ord with a view to opening a communication with the River Tess opposite to the Town of Stockton might materially conduce to the benefit of this Company and the Port and Trade of Stockton aforesaid - recommend the General Meeting to include those objects in such Notices as aforesaid.”

Resolved that this Meeting do adjourn to Friday the 27th day of Nov Ins’t at 11 o’clock and that a copy of these resolutions be transmitted to each Proprietor in the Company who are requested to attend the adjourned Meeting.
