Letter from Leonard Raisbeck, Stockton, to John Rennie, Stamford Street, Blackfriars, London
Raisbeck thanks Rennie for the documents ‘which have been submitted to the consideration of the committee’, but asks for further detail on ‘the relative advantages and the probable difference of expense of a Canal & Railway … particularly as it is known a Railway has its advocates’. Rennie, it seems, was slow in complying with the request; Raisbeck notes on the reverse of the letter, ‘wrote again 1st Feb. 1814 to request as Aug.’, and ‘Again 2nd April 1814’.
