Mewburn writes: 'Our bill will be presented on Tuesday', encloses notices to be placed on church doors. Comments that Mewburn has not heard anything from those that oppose the bill. Asks Raisbeck to send a notices to the Durham Advertiser and York Herald and arrange for the newspapers to be sent to him.

Dear Sir
Our bill will be presented on Tuesday, and in anticipation I enclose you six copies of notices – five of which must be affixed to the doors of the Parish Churches I have named therein – if I have omitted any you will please to insert them. P make additional copies and sign my name thereto. They [illegible] on [illegible] on Saturday the 16th inst to the notices and affix them on Sunday the 17th. I will forward you next [illegible] prints of our Bill with Plans annexed to them. They will [illegible] and on Monday the 25th inst and deposit with the Parish clerks the day following.
I hear nothing of any opposition to our Bill expect from the Bishops – the Tyne and Wear gents say they will oppose.
You will have the goodness to send [text erased] one of the enclosed notices to the Durham Advertiser and another to the York Herald to be inserted on Saturday the 16th inst, and desire two Papers of each to be sent to me here
