I am anxious neither mistake nor discrepancy should arise respect’g our converse in prospect this ev’ing ___ I had so far forgot there was a general meet’g yesterday that under the impression of its being this day., I prevail’d on my Sons Edw’d & Henry to go by this morn’g coach to attend it! _ _
The last Gen’l meet’g stood
[Page 2]
adjourned to yesterday, & in the interim that meet’g vested the Committee or Sub Committee with powers to take any steps they might think needful to repel the unlooked for movement of the Tees Co. _ the notice named by thee is the result of these powers I suppose __ it contemplate, but little to be effected, but that little (hav’g now read the notice in the durham paper) will effect such a change of the value of property, as leads me to be more anxious we may not involve either conflict’g interests, or diminish the standing of any one who is now subsisting by things as they are [illegible]. Thy assured F’d
