This series is made up of printed material where provenance could not be acertained. It includes newspapers, magazines, journal extracts etc. Printed material exists elsewhere in the Hackworth archive under series descriptions of the individual who gathered the material. Printed material in this series has been gathered by members of the Hackworth family, however there is no definative proof who collected them. It is likely that a large amount of this series was gathered by Robert Young, as some publications have pages cut out of them, presumably because images extracted from them were gathered for illustrations in his book Timothy Hackworth and the Locomotive.
