Greener, Thomas (b 1820? - d c 1903)

Discusses John Wesley Hackworth’s serious financial position, ‘ he was never in lower water’ other members of the family will not be able to help, Jenny’s [Jane Young (nee Hackworth)] son is unemployed, Prudence is allowing son’s widow and children a small annuity. Possibility of lobbying the speaker of the houses parliament, the Right Honourable Mr Peel for a pension, worried about workhouse, he is at such ‘Daggers Point’ with the Quakers there is little point in asking for their help. Has Thomas Greener got any friends that could influence the Conservative government?
