Declares that ‘John Thompson and myself made the patterns for Timothy Hackworth’s Royal George’; due to a fire breaking out the works of John Wright & Co a second set of patterns were made; he ‘well knew’ Thomas Taylor, Foreman Fitter and Turner, Thomas Dobson, Foreman Smith ‘who practically carried out the building of the ‘Royal George’’. Signed and witnessed by W.A. Shiardown, Postmaster, North Road, Darlington and John Mackenzie, Provision Merchant, North Road, Darlington.
