Partial letter probably enquiring about a potential role on the Stockton and Darlington Railway; a full month has passed; had gone to Darlington had sent for Mr. Joseph Pease 'having part knowledge of him from our former interview' however there had been no communications between the recipient and Pease; 'I plainly inferred there was no opening for me as Mr Storey is inclined to stay what was said & is not servant to them but a servant to yourself & it is obvious that while Mr Dixon remains with them they need no other'; Mr Pease Sr said the whole of the machinery was contracted to the recipient, he had asked Hackworth to suggest an how he would be useful.
