My dear Friends,
I beg to offer you my sincere condolences under the bereavement you have been called to endure and the sorrow inseperable from the loss of a beloved brother. You have been called to drink deeply of the cup of sorrow, by successive family bereavements have made the graveyard a familiar resort.
Yet in the midst of your tears of affection and unavoidable grief I trust you have not failed to recognise a wise and gracious hand in these events, and to realise the support and consolation of religion, which is so perculiarly adapted to such trials. It is natural to weep and religion does not prohibit the emotions of grief but it is christian to ensure with fortitude and calmness the accumulated ills of life. Repeated breaches in the family circle here are gradually enlarging the circle of friends in heaven, as we become weaned from earth through the salutary effects of present losses our attachment to heaven may increase by our qualification for its employments and associations be proportionately matured.
Mrs Hobill joins me in assurances of the deepest sympathy and regard to each member of your family.
I am my dear friends
Yours sincerely
Geo Hobill
