My dear sir,
I find this morning that I’ve posted some other note instead of yours last Friday – I saw the goods off for [?] to Mrs Hackworth and directed the invoice to you thinking you’d explain the note of the transaction to her.
I fear whether the goods will be saleable but they are entered at the cost price. I think I can arrange a settlement with Mr. Crosier for them.
I fear it is impossible to work with Mr. Dyson in this business – he is so perfectly wild in his speculations. He has bought two Hosiery Stocks at a rate far too high for us making a profit at them and besides I fear we cannot make them sell at any price before the money must be paid.
Mr Crosier if he hears of this may get alarmed and require his money which would throw me on the World without means at once.
I hope this may be prevented by more amiable arrangement.
Excuse my neglect in not getting this off earlier and believe me,
Yours truly,
WH Ambler
