Has retired; knew Pangborn personally asked to exhibit Royal George in the Columbia fair; the Stephenson letter is in his possession until it is safe to cross the ocean as he is the oldest grandson he was to have it; Sam thought it was in the Mechanics Institute in Shildon it was not; John Wesley Hackworth patents, he has a lot of letters, books of account of repairs to locomotives. Much of the material described in this letter is contained in this archive.
