Dear Sir
In acknowleding your favor I regret to say that Miss Hackworth forced one of the iron bars of the window & made her escape without shoes or bonnet about 3 o’clock this morning.
On making enquiries in the village we learn that she had suceeded in borrowing a pair of boots - & had said that she intended to go to Mr Downing to seek to obtain money to enable her to get to Newcastle.
