Mr Timothy Hackworth
Dear Sir:
In turning the Piston rod for Brusselton Engine one finds it has come scant from the forge, and will only turn to 3 3/8 instead of 3 3/8 1/16- we have accordingly laid it and of the lathe, till we have your reply to this letter, which we shall thank you for at your earliest convenience, as the Piston is turned and all ready – say if the Piston Rod 3 3/8 will do and you will oblige
Dear Sir
your [obedient?]
