My dear Lady,
I have the honour to acquaint you that I am in receipt of frs. 193.75 in anticipation of three months schooling for Miss Jenny.
I cannot allow the present occasion to pass without giving you some news of your dear young lady who is perfectly well and with whom I am more than satisfied. All that you said of her worth in confiding her to my care is fully confirmed and I already appreciate the qualities of this young person who has not been slow in gaining the most tender affection of her companions and teachers.
All her tutors are content with her application and zeal for study: she begins to express herself well in French and makes marked progress in the other areas of her education; in short, I have only given her the praise she merits.
Rest assured, my dear Lady, that every effort will be taken to make Miss Jenny’s stay amongst us agreeable and that our efforts will be redoubled to gain the confidence with which you have honoured us.
Will you present our gracious compliments to all your charming family and may I assure you, my dear Lady, of my very best wishes.
Your very devoted servant
L Flasschoeur-Michaux
